Buenas noches, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un enlace a un artículo mio que fué publicado por la Revista Cronopio, se trata de una breve narración y reflexión sobre la primera escuela de música tipo conservatorio que existió en Medellín: La Escuela de Música de Santa Cecilia. Dado el carácter cultural de la publicación no se trata propiamente de un artículo académico, pero sí es un interesante ejercicio de memoria dirigido al púlico general que espero disfruten.

El tres de mayo de 1888, se anunciaba en el periódico La Voz de
Antioquia que «varios jóvenes de esta ciudad, aficionados y entusiastas
del divino arte de la música, han constituido una sociedad que han
denominado Escuela de Música de Santa Cecilia», de esta manera se enteró
Medellín, una ciudad que apenas empezaba a serlo, que pronto tendría
una escuela de música, un lugar donde era posible aprender el arte de
Euterpe a través de una Institución.

On May 3th of 1888, a writing published in the newspaper La Voz de Antioquia announced that "several young mens of this city, fans and enthusiasts of the divine art of music, have created a society that has been called School of Music of St. Cecilia". In this way, Medellin, a raising city, knew that had an institution where her inhabitants could learned about music.
